About Us

Wembley High Technology College is one of the highest performing schools in the country. Nationally, the achievement of our pupils is exceptional; in 2019, our Progress 8 score of +1.58 was recognised as the 4th highest in the country by the Department for Education. This progress from Key Stage 2 to GCSE has a transformative impact on our pupils’ life chances and last year, over 55% of pupils leaving us went on to Russell Group Universities to study a range of academic subjects. In September 2020, Wembley High also welcomed pupils from North Brent School in Year 7 while their new £27 million building is completed. The addition of a new school in our Multi-Academy Trust provides exciting development and leadership opportunities for staff in the years to come.

The Modern Foreign Languages Department

We are looking for a qualified or unqualified teacher who can make a significant contribution to this strong and successful department to teach Spanish across Key Stages 3 and 4. The ideal candidate would also speak and teach Portuguese at Key Stage 4. The vast majority of our students study Spanish from Year 7 and take their GCSE in Year 10 or Year 11. A number of students also opt to take an additional language at GCSE, that is, either French or Portuguese. In 2021, 61% and 100% of our Year 11 and 10 students, respectively, scored the top grades (9-7) in their GCSE Spanish, making this a hugely successful department. Our focus on balancing the acquisition of vocabulary, understanding of grammar and wider cultural knowledge is what underpins this success.
