This week’s work is below for your classes. You should also check your emails as some additional instructions from teachers may be sent. Remember to ask your subject teacher if you need any extra help or support with the work.

If you are worried about something, always get in touch with your teacher, Year Leader, Mr Jeffery or Ms Less who will help in any way they can.


Hello Geographers!

You will find below links and instructions for Year 7, Year 8, Year 9Year 10 and Year 12 to complete your Geography assignments for this week. If you have any questions, please email your geography teacher. 

Year 7

Year 7 click here

This week you will be following Danny the Droplets journey down a river and learning about the changes to river characteristics downstream. You will need to click on the following link and open the folder called ‘Week commencing 15th June’:

1. Click on the link to the quiz sent to you via email from your Geography teacher.

2. Follow the instructions on each section of the quiz. This will include watching part of a video and answering a series of questions based on the lesson recording.

3. Once you have completed all sections of the quiz, you will receive a total score. Your geography teacher will check this score electronically so you do not need to send anything back this week.

Year 8

Year 8 click here

This week you will be learning about a new natural hazard: droughts! The lesson will explore the causes of a drought and why they are so hazardous to people and the environment. You will need to click on the following link and open the folder called ‘Week commencing 22nd June’

1. Click on the link to the quiz sent to you via email from your Geography teacher.

2. Follow the instructions on each section of the quiz. This will include watching part of a video and answering a series of questions based on the lesson recording.

3. Once you have completed all sections of the quiz, you will receive a total score. Your geography teacher will check this score electronically so you do not need to send anything back this week.

 

Year 9

The first lesson of the week will finish the topic of Weather Hazards and Climate Change, evaluating the responses to drought in Ethiopia. For the second lesson, you will start on the new topic of Ecosystems, Biodiversity and Management.

Your designated day for Geography is Wednesday with work due on Friday 5pm

  1. Go to your Google Classroom and select assignment Week starting 22nd June. Two lessons and recordings will be uploaded to this folder and available on YouTube.
  2. Once you have completed the tasks, upload your answers to assignment, this will allow your teacher to give you feedback for you written work.

The deadline for you to complete your work and save it to the appropriate assignment is Friday 26th June at 5pm.

Year 10

Year 10 classes

You will be continuing the UK challenges topic this week.

If you have a geography lesson in school you will complete the tasks for the week in school and then complete the multiple choice quiz assignment at home (20 marks).

If you do not have a geography lesson (teachers are aware of who is and is not in school for geography) in school you need to follow the instructions below:

Your designated day for Geography is Wednesday with work due on Friday.

  1. Go to your Google Classroom and select assignment Week starting 22nd June at 5pm. One lessons and recording will be uploaded to this folder and available on YouTube.
  2. You should listen to the lesson recording to complete two multiple choice quiz assignments - both are 20 marks.

The deadline for you to complete your work and save it to the appropriate assignment is Friday 26th June at 5pm.

 

Year 12

If you are in school this week for your geography lesson you will complete your tasks during class and then a homework assignment.

If you do not have your geography lesson in school you will receive an email from Miss Lilley with a time for your Zoom tutorial on Thursday between 1.30-3.30pm. In advance of your tutorial you will be required to complete the following

  1. Go to your Google Classroom and select assignment Week starting 22nd June Three lessons and recordings will be uploaded to this folder and available on YouTube throughout the week.
  2. Once you have completed the tasks, upload your answers to assignment. The deadlines are set for each assignment on Google Classroom.
