This week’s work is below for your classes. You should also check your emails as some additional instructions from teachers may be sent. Remember to ask your subject teacher if you need any extra help or support with the work.

If you are worried about something, always get in touch with your teacher, Year Leader, Mr Jeffery or Ms Less who will help in any way they can.


Hello Geographers!

You will find below links and instructions for Year 7, Year 8, Year 9Year 10 and Year 12 to complete your Geography assignments for this week. If you have any questions, please email your geography teacher. 

Year 7

Year 7 click here

This week you will be following Danny the Droplets journey in the middle course of a river and learning the formation of meanders.

1. Click on the link to the quiz called ‘Middle Course’ (also sent to you via email by your Geography teacher).

2. Follow the instructions on the quiz. Once completed you will receive a total score which your geography teacher will check electronically.

Year 8

Year 8 click here

This week you will be learning about the hazardous impacts of drought in Namibia, a developing country.

1. Click on the link to the quiz called ‘Drought in Namibia’ (also sent to you via email by your Geography teacher).

2. Follow the instructions on the quiz. Once completed you will receive a total score which your geography teacher will check electronically.

Year 9

This week you are continuing with the topic Ecosystems, Biodiversity and Management. In the first lesson you will learn about the biosphere – why are they vital to humans and how is it being exploited? The second lesson explores the range of ecosystems we have in the UK.

Your designated day for Geography is Wednesday with work due on Friday 3rd July at 5pm.

1. Go to your Google Classroom and select the assignments in Week starting 29th June.

2. Each lesson has a short video and quiz to complete alongside it. Your Geography teacher will check your score electronically via the Google Classroom.

Year 10

Year 10 classes

You will be continuing with UK Challenges, focusing upon UK National Parks, the reasons for their existence, their locations, and challenges facing them.

Your designated day for Geography is Wednesday with work due on Friday.

If you do not have Geography in school:

1. Go to your Google Classroom and select assignment Week starting 29th June. Your lesson and recording will be uploaded to an assignment and available on YouTube.

2. Once you have completed the tasks, upload your answers to assignment, this will allow your teacher to give you feedback for you written work.

All year 10 pupils including those who have a Geography lesson in school:

You have a 20 question Google Forms homework quiz to complete. There will also be a short video to accompany this which should be watched alongside the quiz.

The deadline for you to complete your work and save it to the appropriate assignment is Friday 3rd July at 5pm.

 

Year 12

If you are in school this week for your geography lesson you will complete your tasks during class and then a homework assignment.

If you do not have your geography lesson in school you will receive an email from Miss Lilley with a time for your Zoom tutorial on Thursday 2nd July between 1.30-3.30pm. In advance of your tutorial you will be required to complete the following

  1. Go to your Google Classroom and select assignment Week starting 29th June two lessons and recordings will be uploaded to this folder and available on YouTube throughout the week.
  2. Once you have completed the tasks, upload your answers to assignment. The deadlines are set for each assignment on Google Classroom.  

You will be finishing the first part of topic of Contemporary Urban Environments, focusing upon water pollution in London and Johannesburg, and dereliction.
