During this year, we are aware that lots of pupils have had to self-isolate due to COVID-19. This has sometimes just been a day or two but in some cases has been much longer.
Home Learning Expectations
How much work should you do at home?
While pupils are isolating, it is vital that they engage with their learning as best as they can. All pupils have access to MS Teams and we would expect all pupils to spend at least 4 hours per day on their learning. For pupils taking external GCSE, AS and A Level exams this year, we expect them to do more than this.
Where is home learning provided?
All work for pupils is provided through MS Teams. In many cases, teachers will run live lessons if the whole class isolating. You may also be able to join into live lessons even if you are the only person from your class absent. Teachers will send further details via MS Teams if you have to self-isolate.
What work can I do at home?
In addition to the regular work provided by your teacher or joining live lessons, you can access many more online learning platforms. You should ensure you use these platforms effectively so that they help you learn. In addition, your teacher may have provided you with other learning materials such as exam packs or independent revision materials. You should ensure you use your time at home to work through these.
