Mass Asymptomatic Testing

Secondary schools across the country will be starting mass testing for COVID-19. This is testing for those without coronavirus symptoms and is being implemented across the country using new, quicker COVID-19 tests, known as ‘lateral flow tests’. These tests form an additional layer in our fight against COVID-19 – they do not replace them. It is vital that all the current LOCKDOWN MEASURES (and in particular households not mixing) stay in place.

Along with the other protective measures we are taking, these tests will help staff and pupils to remain in school safely. Up to one third of people who have coronavirus experience no symptoms. By testing we will help to stop the virus spread and help to keep our school open as safely as possible. The test is voluntary, but we strongly encourage everyone to take it.

For pupils to take part in the testing, consent is needed from parents. Please find below a letter from the school, an instructional leaflet with some more information, along with a privacy notice and some additional FAQs regarding data protection.
