Key Stage 4 Curriculum

We are committed to academic excellence and to designing a curriculum that is carefully tailored to the individual needs and aspirations of every student. At Key Stage 4, all pupils study English Language and Literature, Mathematics, Science, and Core PE as compulsory subjects, ensuring a strong foundation of essential knowledge and skills.

Beyond these core areas, students study a range of subjects, some of which are options. The type of qualification, the year of entry and the amount of curriculum time allocated to each subject are personalised to reflect the strengths, ambitions and future pathways of each individual pupil. This flexible approach ensures that every student can thrive, achieve their potential, and be well-prepared for the next stage of their education or career.

Key Stage 5 Curriculum

At Key Stage 5, we offer a wide variety of A Level courses designed to prepare pupils for successful university study and future careers. All subjects are studied for five hours per week, giving students the depth of knowledge and understanding required at this advanced level. Students typically begin Year 12 with four subjects and continue into Year 13 with three subjects, allowing them to specialise further in their chosen fields.

In addition, pupils take part in one hour per week of Personal Development, where they receive tailored support in study skills, personal growth, and guidance with university applications. This ensures that every student is fully equipped not only with academic excellence but also with the confidence and skills needed to thrive in higher education and beyond.
