This week’s work is below for your classes. You should also check your emails as some additional instructions from teachers may be sent. Remember to ask your subject teacher if you need any extra help or support with the work.

If you are worried about something, always get in touch with your teacher, Year Leader, Mr Jeffery or Ms Less who will help in any way they can.


Hello Geographers! You will find below links and instructions for Year 7, Year 8, Year 9, Year 10, Year 11, Year 12 and Year 13 to complete your Geography assignments for this week. If you have any questions, please email your geography teacher.

Year 7

This week you will be learning about the diverse physical environments in Africa and how this can impact development across the continent.

You will need to click on the following link and open the folder called ‘Week commencing 4th May’:

1. Watch the video recording of the lesson and complete the tasks in the video on a word document or in your exercise book (for example, answers to questions and quizzes).

2. Mark your classwork using the mark schemes in the video.

3. Once you have finished the video recording, email your teacher the tasks you have completed by attaching your word document or photo of your book pages.

Year 8

This week you will be learning about earthquakes! What are they? Where do they occur and why? How do countries reduce the impacts?

You will need to click on the following link and open the folder called ‘Week commencing 4th May’:

1. Watch the video recording of the lesson and complete the tasks in the video on a word document or in your exercise book (this does not need to be emailed back to your teacher).

2. Mark your classwork using the mark schemes in the video.

3. Once you have finished the video recording, complete the quiz set on Educake to test your understanding (your teacher will check this has been completed electronically).

Year 9

This week you will continue your learning on the topic ‘Weather Hazards and Climate Change’ with a focus upon causes and impacts of climate change.

To complete this week’s work

  1. Go to your Google Classroom (your teacher has emailed you the link) and select the assignment named: Week starting 4th May. Two lessons and recordings will be uploaded to this folder. You should listen to the video and complete the questions and tasks as directed by your teacher.
  2. Once you have completed the tasks, upload your answers to assignment, this will allow your teacher to give you feedback for you written work.

The deadline for you to complete your work and save it to the appropriate assignment on Google Classroom is Friday 8th May 3pm.

 

Year 10

You will be completing revision on rivers fieldwork (summer 2019) with a focus on enquiry questions, planning fieldwork, and sourcing secondary data.

10GG2B2, 10GG3B2, 10GGSB2

You will be completing the Weather Hazards and Climate Change topic with a focus on drought in contrasting locations.

10GG4B1, 10GG5B1, 10GG6B1, 10GG7B1

You will be continuing the Changing UK Landscapes topic including processes involved in coastal landscapes.

To complete this week’s work

  1. Go to your Google Classroom (your teacher has emailed you the link) and select the assignment named: Week starting 4th May. Two lessons and recordings will be uploaded to this folder. You should listen to the video and complete the questions and tasks as directed by your teacher.

Year 11

  1. Go to the Google drive by clicking here
  2. Double click on the folder 'Week 5 (4.5.20)’.
  3. Open the PowerPoint presentation to access the links in the lesson.
  4. Watch the recorded video of the lesson and complete the tasks in the video on a word document or on paper.
  5. When you have completed all your tasks, upload to your google classroom under this week’s assignment.
  6. The deadline for you to complete your work is Friday 8th May at 3pm.

Year 12

  1. Four lessons will be uploaded this week onto your google classroom under the topic ‘Week starting 4th May’.
  2. Download the videos and PowerPoint for each of the four lessons, which will be uploaded throughout the week. The deadlines for each lesson will be indicated on the assignment on Google Classroom.
  3. Answer the questions and tasks in the PowerPoint and upload your answers for each assignment to Google Classroom.

Year 13

  1. Your readings on the topic of the week –plate tectonic theory have been uploaded to your Google Classroom.
  2. As you complete the readings make notes which include the different theories behind movement of tectonic plates.
