About Us

Wembley High Technology College is one of the highest performing schools in the country. Nationally, the achievement of our pupils is exceptional; in 2019, our Progress 8 score of +1.57 has been recognised as the 4th highest in the country by the Department for Education. This progress from Key Stage 2 to GCSE has a transformative impact on our pupils’ life chances and last year, over 50% of pupils leaving us went on to Russell Group Universities to study a range of academic subjects. In September 2020, Wembley High will also be welcoming pupils from North Brent School in Year 7 for two years while their new £27 million building is completed. The addition of a new school in our Multi-Academy Trust provides exciting development and leadership opportunities for staff in the years to come.

The Religious Studies Department

We are looking for a teacher who can make a significant contribution to this strong and successful department and teach Religious Studies across Key Stages 3 and 4. At Key Stage 3 pupils follow Brent’s agreed syllabus for Religious Education and are introduced to the six major world religions.  At GCSE, pupils follow the AQA Religious Studies (specification A) and take their examination in year 10.  As a high performing department within the school, pupils strive to succeed at the highest levels; in 2019, 94% of pupils achieved grades 9 – 4 in GSCE RS, with 54% awarded grades 9 – 7. High ability pupils in year 11 can opt to study GCSE Philosophy, which is also offered by the RS department.  The performance of pupils that studied GCSE Philosophy in 2019 was the second highest in the school, with 97% of pupils achieving grades 9 – 7.  A-Level and AS level Religious Studies are also popular choices and many pupils go on to study courses such as Law, Politics, History and English related subjects at university.
