This week’s work is below for your classes. You should also check your emails as some additional instructions from teachers may be sent. Remember to ask your subject teacher if you need any extra help or support with the work.

If you are worried about something, always get in touch with your teacher, Year Leader, Mr Jeffery or Ms Less who will help in any way they can.


Hello Geographers!

You will find below links and instructions for Year 7, Year 8, Year 9Year 10 and Year 12 to complete your Geography assignments for this week. If you have any questions, please email your geography teacher. 

Year 7

This week you will be learning the reasons why Algeria is developing more quickly than South Sudan. You will need to click on the following link and open the folder called ‘Week commencing 8th June’:

1. Watch the video recording of the lesson and complete the tasks in the video on a word document or in your exercise book (for example, answers to questions and quizzes).

2. Mark your classwork using the mark schemes in the video (you do not need to send these to your teacher this week).

3. Once you have finished the video recording, complete the quiz on the google form sent to you via email – remember to write your full name as the answer to question 1.

Year 8

This week you will be learning about the impacts of Hurricane Matthew in the USA and Haiti. You will need to click on the following link and open the folder called ‘Week commencing 8th June’:

2. Mark your classwork using the mark schemes in the video (you do not need to send these to your teacher this week).

Year 9

This week you will continue your learning on the topic ‘Weather Hazards and Climate Change’ with a focus on drought and case studies in regards to drought.  

Your designated day for Geography is Wednesday with work due on Friday.

  1. Go to your Google Classroom and select assignment Week starting 8th June. Two lessons and recordings will be uploaded to this folder and available on YouTube.
  2. Once you have completed the tasks, upload your answers to assignment, this will allow your teacher to give you feedback for you written work.

The deadline for you to complete your work and save it to the appropriate assignment is Friday 12th June.

Year 10

10GG1B2

You will be revising key content on Changing UK Landscapes, looking at landforms in rivers and coastal environments.

10GG2B2, 10GG3B2, 10GGSB2

You will be continuing with the topic of Ecosystems, Biodiversity and Management, focusing upon the biosphere and UK ecosystems.

10GG4B1, 10GG5B1, 10GG61 and 10GG7B1

You will be continuing with Changing UK Landscapes, focusing upon the landforms in the middle and lower course of river landscapes.

Your designated day for Geography is Wednesday with work due on Friday.

You will be continuing with Contemporary Urban Environments, focusing upon inequality and strategies to mitigate these in London and Johannesburg.

  1. Go to your Google Classroom and select assignment Week starting 8th June. Three lessons and recordings will be uploaded to this folder and available on YouTube throughout the week.
  2. Once you have completed the tasks, upload your answers to assignment. The deadlines are set for each assignment on Google Classroom.
